Detailed Description From Employer:

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Schools Building Surveyor to provide professional and technical advice to a range of clients including schools across the region on a initial 6 month contract. This role involves: Delivering minor building projects, coordinating reactive repairs, and managing client relationships to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including Planning, Building Control, Asbestos, and Fire Safety. You will also support schools and external clients, including Dioceses across Cumbria, Lancashire, and West Yorkshire, in fulfilling their premises management responsibilities. Oversee contract work from inception to completion, advising on health & safety compliance, including CDM Regulations. Assist clients with forward planning and budgeting to maintain fit-for-purpose properties. Provide construction-related health & safety advice and support risk management strategies.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience: Professional membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB). Proven experience in building surveying, project management, and premises compliance. Strong stakeholder management skills Knowledge of statutory requirements, including Planning, Building Control, Asbestos, and Fire Safety. Ability to manage multiple projects, balancing planned and reactive maintenance needs. Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to risk management and compliance.
