Summary: The SAN Storage SME – IT System Operations Specialist role involves providing expert-level support for SAN infrastructure within a leading investment bank's global Infrastructure Core team. The position focuses on ensuring the performance, availability, and resilience of enterprise storage environments. The role requires collaboration with various teams and participation in disaster recovery planning. The contract is set to last until December 31, 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert-level support for SAN infrastructure, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Manage and maintain enterprise storage systems, including RAID configurations, zoning, LUN provisioning, and replication.
- Monitor and resolve issues related to SAN fabric, storage arrays, and backup systems.
- Support disaster recovery planning and execution, ensuring data integrity and availability.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and database teams to ensure optimal storage performance.
- Maintain documentation for storage architecture, processes, and procedures.
- Participate in capacity planning and performance tuning of storage environments.
- Provide on-call and out-of-hours support as required for critical incidents.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a SAN Storage SME in enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of storage technologies (e.g. EMC, NetApp, HPE 3PAR, IBM, Brocade, Cisco MDS).
- Experience with SAN protocols (Fibre Channel, iSCSI, FCoE) and storage management tools.
- Familiarity with backup and recovery solutions (e.g. NDMP, Veeam, Commvault).
- Understanding of RAID levels, zoning, multipathing, and storage tiering.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex storage-related issues.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Willingness to work out-of-hours when needed.
