Summary: The RNIDC Operational Officer role involves working within the Radiological & Nuclear Inland Detection Capability team, primarily based at the South Wales hub. The position focuses on developing and delivering a national radiological and nuclear detection capability for policing, supporting public safety at major events, and responding to incidents involving radioactive or nuclear sources. Successful candidates will be expected to travel across the UK as needed to fulfill operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver a national Police radiological and nuclear inland detection capability.
• Operationally deploy with radiological and nuclear detection equipment across the UK.
• Collaborate with host forces to integrate detection architecture into major public events.
• Gain expertise in radiation and nuclear threats and detection capabilities.
• Support the creation of bespoke deployment plans for operational activities.
• Deliver the Duty Officer cadre for the NCBRNC, with additional training as necessary.
• Travel to various locations within the UK as required by operational needs.
