Summary: The Finance Business Partner – RISK & INSURANCE role involves managing and directing staff within Insurance services for a local authority, focusing on achieving objectives in the Risk Management and Insurance Service Plan. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and review the Council Policy relating to Risk Financing and the insurance programme.
- Lead the Council's Risk Management activities and assist in identifying strategic and operational risks.
- Provide risk management training and specialist advice on Risk Management, Insurance, and Liability issues.
- Develop and implement the Council's Risk Management strategy and coordinate the Corporate Risk Register.
- Manage and coordinate Risk and Insurance financial responsibilities and various Council contracts.
- Contribute to setting and monitoring insurance budgets and long-term financial planning.
- Lead the management of the insurance and risk service, ensuring performance standards and effective resource deployment.
Key Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of Risk Management and Insurance practices in the Public Sector.
- Detailed understanding of legal liability claims against Local Authorities and related Civil Procedure rules.
- Excellent understanding of the decision-making process in Local Government.
- Extensive insurance experience relevant to the Public Sector.
- Experience in claims handling within the Public Sector.
