Summary: The Research Fellow position at Queen's Communities and Place (QCAP) focuses on contributing to the Belfast Community Research and Innovation Network (BCRIN) by supporting community-led research and urban innovation. The role emphasizes collaboration with local stakeholders to ensure community voices are integral to the research process. The successful candidate will engage in participatory knowledge production and contribute to the development of an inclusive innovation ecosystem. This is a fixed-term contract for 35 months, with potential for renewal based on funding availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support community-led research and participatory knowledge production.
- Engage with local stakeholders, including community organizations and policymakers.
- Contribute to the Education, Skills, and Inclusive Innovation work programme.
- Design and conduct fieldwork in collaboration with community organizations.
- Deliver workshops, seminars, or training sessions related to research methods and urban innovation.
- Communicate research methods and findings effectively to diverse audiences.
- Contribute to broader management and administrative processes within the research team.
Key Skills:
- Upper second class honours degree or a Masters degree in a social science discipline.
- PhD in a relevant subject or about to obtain one.
- Experience with qualitative and/or quantitative research methods.
- Strong understanding of participatory research and co-design methodologies.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
- Experience in delivering workshops or training sessions.
- Knowledge of urban innovation and inclusive innovation frameworks.
- Strong skills in data analysis and policy engagement.
