Summary: The Workday Financials Lead will oversee the end-to-end delivery and optimization of Workday Financial Management, focusing on Projects, Business Assets, and Customer Accounts. This role involves leading design workshops, configuring solutions, managing data conversion, and ensuring post-go-live support. The candidate will collaborate with Finance, IT, and Data teams to enhance performance and user experience. Strong expertise in Workday Financials and project management is essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Workday Financials deployment for Projects, Business Assets, and Customer Accounts: facilitate discovery, fit/gap, and future-state design.
- Configure FDM/Worktags, accounting/posting rules, project structures, asset books, depreciation methods, customer profiles, invoicing, and collections workflows.
- Build/review integrations (EIB, Studio/REST) and partner with technical teams on file formats, error handling, and monitoring.
- Own data conversion strategy and execution for projects, assets, customers, and open items; define mapping, validation, and reconciliation controls.
- Plan and run testing (unit, SIT, UAT), defect triage, regression, and cutover activities; lead hypercare and production validation.
- Manage the support team post-go-live: intake/triage, prioritization, SLAs, knowledge base/runbooks, and release readiness for Workday updates (R1/R2).
- Partner with Finance/Accounting, IT, and Security to ensure controls, segregation of duties, and audit-ready documentation.
- Define KPIs and dashboards to track adoption, data quality, and process performance; drive continuous improvement and standardization.
- Communicate status, risks, and decisions clearly to stakeholders and leadership.

- Expert knowledge of Workday Projects, Business Assets, and Customer Accounts (AR) configuration and business processes.
- Strong grasp of FDM/Worktags, accounting fundamentals (project accounting, capitalization, depreciation, AR), and posting logic.
- Hands-on with Report Writer, Calculated Fields, EIB, and Workday Studio/REST; familiarity with BIRT or Prism is a plus.
- Solid understanding of Workday Security (domain/business process), release management, and migration promotion.

We have partnered with our client in their search for a Workday Financials Lead - Projects, Business Assets & Customer Accounts. In this role you will lead end-to-end delivery and optimization of Workday Financial Management with focus on Projects, Business Assets, and Customer Accounts (AR). Drive design workshops, configure scalable solutions (worktags/FDM, accounting rules, posting logic), oversee data conversion and integrations, and orchestrate testing, cutover, and hypercare. Post-go-live, manage the support team (triage, SLAs, release readiness) and partner with Finance/Accounting, IT, and Data teams to continuously improve performance, controls, and user experience.

- Active Workday certifications in Projects, Business Assets, and Customers (required); Workday Financials core certification strongly preferred.
