Summary: The Power BI Developer role involves designing and optimizing data reporting solutions using Power BI, SQL, and semantic modeling. The candidate will be responsible for creating dashboards, reports, and data models while ensuring data accuracy and performance. Collaboration with stakeholders to gather requirements is also a key aspect of the position. This is a hybrid role based in Leeds, requiring one day a week on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models.
- Build and optimise semantic models to support self-service analytics.
- Create and implement star schema designs for efficient and scalable reporting solutions.
- Write, optimise, and maintain SQL queries to support BI solutions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective reporting solutions.
- Ensure data accuracy, reliability, and performance across BI solutions.
Key Skills:
- Proven commercial experience as a Power BI Developer.
- Strong proficiency in Power BI (data modelling, DAX, and visualisation best practices).
- Advanced SQL skills for querying and data manipulation.
- Experience in semantic modelling and designing star schema data models.
- Understanding of data warehouse principles and best practices.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (Azure / AWS / GCP) is desirable.
- Knowledge of ETL processes and tools is desirable.
- Familiarity with data governance and data quality principles is desirable.
