Summary: The Workday Adaptive Planning Consultant will be instrumental in enhancing organizations' financial planning processes through the implementation and optimization of Workday Adaptive Planning. This role involves leading projects, mentoring junior team members, and ensuring successful adoption of solutions to improve budgeting, forecasting, and analytics. The consultant will also contribute to internal knowledge sharing and support business growth initiatives. Strong expertise in financial planning and EPM systems is essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Workday Adaptive Planning Expertise – Maintain certification and stay up to date with the latest capabilities to deliver the best solutions.
- Lead Implementations – Guide businesses through all phases of Workday Adaptive Planning projects, including assessing current planning processes and migrating legacy models into Workday Adaptive Planning, advising on the best solutions based on business needs, budget, and timelines, running design workshops and guiding stakeholders through configuration decisions, developing accurate, scalable forecasting and planning models, training end users to ensure successful adoption, and delivering projects on time and within budget to maximise value.
- Ensure Long-Term Success – Build strong relationships, set clear expectations, and provide ongoing support to drive results.
- Share Knowledge & Best Practices – Contribute to internal learning and mentor junior consultants.
- Support Business Growth – Assist with pre-sales, estimating project delivery, and advising on solution feasibility.
- Develop and Manage Teams – If applicable, lead and mentor team members to enhance their skills and career progression.
Key Skills:
- Financial Planning & Modelling Expertise – Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting, with advanced Excel skills.
- EPM Implementation Experience – Ability to design and build complex financial models, ideally in an Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) system.
- Strong Communication & Consulting Skills – Proven ability to lead workshops, engage senior stakeholders, and translate complex financial models into actionable insights.
- Business & Technology Awareness – Understanding of financial processes, ERP systems, and industry trends that impact enterprise planning.
- Project Management & Delivery – Knowledge of agile methodologies and experience delivering projects successfully within tight deadlines.
- Leadership & Mentoring – Experience managing, coaching, or developing colleagues (if applicable).
- Flexibility & Travel – Willingness to visit client sites within your region when needed.
