Summary: The Mainframe Database Administrator role focuses on hands-on administration of IMS databases within a z/OS environment, specifically excluding DB2 expertise. Key Responsibilities:
- Administer IMS databases on the z/OS Systems platform.
- Perform forward recoveries and manage DBRC.
- Utilize basic z/OS utilities such as TSO, SYSVIEW, SDSF, and others.
- Develop and troubleshoot Batch and CICS Cobol, IMS programming.
- Create and debug complex JCL.
- Write, analyze, and debug REXX programs in a z/OS environment.
- Manage IMS HAL databases and IMS Catalog.
Key Skills:
- Hands-on experience with IMS database administration.
- Proficiency in z/OS Systems platform.
- Knowledge of DBRC and forward recoveries.
- Experience with TSO, SYSVIEW, SDSF, JSF, IDCAMS, IEBGENER, IEFBR14.
- Familiarity with Batch and CICS Cobol programming.
- Ability to develop and troubleshoot complex JCL.
- Experience with JCL, CICS, VSAM, and TSO.
- Proficient in writing and debugging REXX programs.
- Required experience with IMS HAL databases and IMS Catalog.
