Summary: We are looking for a Web Development & SEO Specialist to build, maintain, and optimize websites while implementing SEO best practices. The role involves collaboration with website and SEO teams to enhance site performance and user experience. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple websites efficiently. This position is structured as an independent contractor with a permanent work-from-home arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, update, and maintain websites (e.g., WordPress, Webflow, or similar platforms)
- Ensure websites are SEO-friendly in structure, speed, and performance
- Implement on-page SEO best practices (meta tags, headings, internal linking, content optimization)
- Collaborate with SEO and content teams to align development with search strategy
- Optimize site speed, mobile responsiveness, and overall UX
- Conduct basic technical SEO checks (indexing, crawlability, broken links, redirects)
- Troubleshoot website and SEO-related issues
- Support ongoing improvements and updates across multiple sites
Key Skills:
- 5-7 years of combined experience in website development and SEO
- Strong experience with website builders/CMS (WordPress preferred)
- Solid understanding of SEO fundamentals and technical SEO
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and website performance optimization
- Familiarity with SEO tools (e.g., Google Search Console, Analytics, Ahrefs, SEMrush, etc.)
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Local SEO experience, especially with location-based or service-area businesses
- Knowledge of schema markup and Core Web Vitals (nice to have)
- Experience with site migrations or redesigns (nice to have)
- Understanding of AI, LLMs, and modern search concepts (nice to have)
- Recent experience applying AI or LLM concepts to SEO workflows (nice to have)
- Experience working with cross-functional teams (SEO, content, marketing, dev)

Job Highlights
