Summary: The Infrastructure Test Manager will oversee the quality and integrity of testing within a critical national infrastructure project focused on network connectivity transformation. This role involves leading a virtual test team, managing test execution activities, and ensuring effective stakeholder engagement. The position requires hands-on experience with test management tools and a solid understanding of network infrastructure. The role is contract-based and offers flexibility with potential short pauses in work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a virtual test team across multiple workstreams
- Control and coordinate all test execution activities
- Act as backup Test Analyst on site when required
- Create and maintain Test Plans and Test Completion Reports
- Define and manage Test Conditions, Use Cases, and Test Data
- Develop and maintain Test Environment Specifications and Configuration Management documentation
- Plan and organise resources, environments, and test schedules across workstreams
- Ensure timely allocation of test resources in line with project milestones
- Manage and administer defects using ALM or similar platforms
- Proactively identify and communicate testing risks, issues, and dependencies
- Interface with key stakeholders across the programme and customer teams
- Produce and present regular test status reports
- Conduct internal reviews on test scripts and infrastructure components such as Routers, Switches, and Firewalls
Key Skills:
- Hands-on experience with ALM for test and defect management
- Knowledge of Cisco Router/Switch console commands
- Ability to interpret HLD/LLD network infrastructure design documents
- Familiarity with network and service management tools (eg StableNet)
- Experience in setting up network test equipment for RFC 2544 testing
- Understanding of Data Centre operations and standard procedures
- Comprehensive understanding of various testing phases: Unit, System Integration, Functional, Non-Functional, Disaster Recovery, Operational Acceptance
- Strong coordination and scheduling capabilities
- Effective communication of test progress, risks, and dependencies
