Summary: The role of Database Administrator involves managing SQL Server databases with a focus on high availability and disaster recovery solutions. The position requires collaboration with project managers and other DBAs while ensuring adherence to company standards and effective communication with stakeholders. The contract is W2 only, and the role is remote within the U.S. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience and technical competence in SQL Server environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assignments based on extensive knowledge of database concepts and practices.
  • Collaborate with Project Manager on project timelines, resource estimates, and risks.
  • Exercise independent judgment in complex matters.
  • Follow and collaborate on existing database standards and technologies.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge and technical competence.
  • Enforce change control, patch management, and information security standards.
  • Consult with other DBAs.
  • Manage work according to costs, scheduling, and performance criteria.
  • Maintain open communication with clients and team members.
  • Communicate status, issues, and concerns effectively.
  • Ensure reliability of database systems.
  • Manage workload and time effectively.
  • Adhere to company policies and compliance.

Key Skills:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Senior SQL Server DBA.
  • Strong knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions.
  • Experience with Always On Availability Groups, Database Mirroring, and Windows clustering.
  • Experience with SSIS.
  • Experience with migrations and upgrades of SQL Server databases.
  • Experience with performance tuning and optimization of queries and databases.
  • Experience with PowerShell and T-SQL.
