Summary: The role of Database Administrator involves managing SQL Server databases with a focus on high availability and disaster recovery solutions. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assignments based on extensive knowledge of database concepts and practices.
  • Collaborate with Project Manager on project timelines, resource estimates, and risks.
  • Exercise independent judgment in complex matters.
  • Follow and collaborate on existing database standards and technologies.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge and technical competence.
  • Enforce change control, patch management, and information security standards.
  • Consult with other DBAs.
  • Manage work according to costs, scheduling, and performance criteria.
  • Maintain open communication with clients and team members.
  • Communicate status, issues, and concerns effectively.
  • Ensure reliability of database systems.
  • Manage workload and time effectively.
  • Adhere to company policies and compliance.

Key Skills:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Senior SQL Server DBA.
  • Strong knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions.
  • Experience with Always On Availability Groups, Database Mirroring, and Windows clustering.
  • Experience with SSIS.
  • Experience with migrations and upgrades of SQL Server databases.
  • Experience with performance tuning and optimization of queries and databases.
  • Experience with PowerShell and T-SQL.
