Summary: The role of Solutions Architect involves supporting a major UK Government department on a data warehouse optimisation project for an initial 6-month contract. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support a major UK Government department on a data warehouse optimisation project.
  • Work with the Lead Solutions Architect and team on design and assurance tasks.
  • Focus primarily on on-prem technology with minimal public cloud exposure.
  • Provide advice on key defined tasks related to infrastructure.

Key Skills:

  • Current or ability to be SC cleared.
  • Experience with Linux and Microsoft Windows based systems in a mixed environment.
  • Knowledge of Kerberos Security and Firewall awareness.
  • Experience with COTS products and on-premise hosting and networking.
  • Previous experience working in a Government Department.
  • Application debugging and configuration skills.

Salary (Rate): £650 daily

Remote | £600-£650 per day | Outside IR35 | 6 months Initial (Long-term Programme)

We are recruiting for an experienced enterprise Solutions Architect with strong on-premise infrastructure experience and government exposure, for a 6-month initial contract supporting a major UK Government department on a data warehouse optimisation project. Please note this role focuses primarily around on-prem technology and only minimal exposure to public cloud technologies.

This is a mostly hands off (some hands on) design and assurance role, working with the Lead Solutions Architect and their team of architects to work through and advise on key defined tasks.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Current or ability to be SC cleared
  • Experience working with Linux and Microsoft Windows based systems in a mixed environment
  • Kerberos Security (Including Kerberos File Security)
  • Firewall awareness and working in a secure environment
  • Working with COTS products
  • Experience with on premise hosting and networking
  • Previous Government Department working experience
  • Application debugging and configuration

Desirable Skills and experience:

  • Any exposure to Oracle Database Platforms in a large-scale environment
  • Windows Powershell programming experience
  • RHEL 7/8 Experience (red hat enterprise)
  • Windows Server 2016/2019 and Windows 11 Clients
  • Ansible Automation Platform
  • Any exposure to SAS analytical software
  • Working in an AGILE environment
