Summary: The Senior SAS Consultant will provide expert-level support to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA), acting as a trusted advisor and technical expert. This role involves advanced troubleshooting, upgrade planning, and optimization efforts across a wide suite of SAS products. The consultant will work remotely, offering real-time technical assistance and collaborating with client IT staff to implement changes in SAS environments. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide remote, real-time over-the-shoulder technical assistance via secure screen-sharing tools
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues in SAS environments (production and non-production)
- Plan, coordinate, and implement SAS software patches, upgrades, and optimizations
- Review and evaluate code, debug errors, and recommend performance improvements
- Support implementation and integration of new SAS tools or modules
- Collaborate with client IT staff to plan and execute technical changes
- Review technical proposals or implementation plans for changes to client’s SAS environments
- Participate in kickoff and strategy alignment sessions
Key Skills:
- SAS Certified Platform Administrator for SAS 9
- SAS Certified Professional: Advanced Programming using SAS 9.4
- 5+ years of experience supporting complex SAS environments in Federal or Regulated industry sectors
- Strong troubleshooting and system tuning capabilities
- Experience in Upgrades and SAS software lifecycle planning
- SAS Certified Data Integration Developer for SAS 9 (preferred)
- SAS Certified Specialist: Administration of SAS Viya (preferred)
- Familiarity with TIGTA or IRS operational environments (preferred)
