Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior PLC/SCADA Engineer with strong experience in utility-scale power systems and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This role involves end-to-end ownership of control system design, PLC programming, SCADA development, and commissioning support for renewable energy and power generation projects.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in industrial automation, grid integration, and communication protocols, along with hands-on experience in mission-critical energy environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain PLC programs (preferably Schneider Electric platforms)
• Build and configure SCADA/HMI systems using Ignition
• Integrate and troubleshoot communication protocols such as Modbus and DNP3
• Support integration of inverters, BESS systems, and energy management systems (EMS)
• Execute and support FAT/SAT testing, commissioning, and site validation
• Ensure compliance with grid interconnection standards and utility requirements
• Perform OEM, PPA, and LGIA testing coordination and documentation
• Diagnose and resolve complex control system and communication issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering and commissioning
• Support cybersecurity compliance, including NERC CIP standards

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
• 11+ years of experience in PLC programming
• Strong hands-on experience with SCADA systems (Ignition preferred)
• Expertise in industrial communication protocols (Modbus, DNP3)
• Experience with utility-scale renewable energy or power generation projects
• Strong understanding of power systems, grid operations, and energy infrastructure
• Proven experience with FAT/SAT and commissioning activities
• Exposure to Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and inverters
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Willingness to travel up to 25%

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with grid interconnection and utility compliance
• Knowledge of NERC CIP cybersecurity standards
• Experience working with OEMs and EPC environments
• Background in energy storage controls or hybrid renewable systems
• Prior field commissioning experience in large-scale power projects
