Summary: The Senior Network Engineer role involves supporting the planning, deployment, and migration to new Cisco-based VXLAN MP-BGP EVPN Data Centre Network environments for a global FTSE 100 client. The contractor will collaborate with existing networking teams, providing hands-on skills for data centre builds and migrations, along with documentation and project reporting. Occasional travel to North and West Yorkshire sites is required, and candidates based in northern UK are preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support planning, deploying, and migrating to Cisco-based VXLAN MP-BGP EVPN Data Centre Network environments.
• Collaborate with existing networking teams for data centre builds and migrations.
• Provide documentation and project reporting.
• Work with networking services including WAN, Internet, Firewalls, and load balancing.
• Utilize Cisco NDFC and Cisco 9300 series hardware.

Key Skills:

• Build experience for VXLAN MP-BGP EVPN DC environments.
• CCNP Data Centre certification or similar level/above.
• Practical previous Data Centre migration experience.
• Knowledge of migrating networking services.
• Experience with Cisco IOS switching and routing, Nexus 7k/5k/2K.
• Working knowledge of BGP, OSPF, and ISIS implementation.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Understanding of retail and distribution enterprise networks.
• Flexibility to work outside of standard business hours.
