Summary: A Senior Moodle Developer is sought for a higher education client to lead technical enhancements and operational support for their Moodle virtual learning environment and associated systems. The role requires expertise in PHP, modern JavaScript, and integration with various platforms while ensuring high-quality code and customer service. The position is primarily remote with occasional site visits to the West Midlands. The developer will collaborate with stakeholders to optimize learning solutions and maintain security and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership for the enhancement and support of Moodle and related systems.
• Develop, integrate, and troubleshoot issues within the Moodle platform.
• Create new features and optimize services in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
• Produce clean, scalable, and well-documented code while ensuring outstanding customer service.
• Work in a Docker-based environment using Git for version control and conduct comprehensive testing.
• Integrate with Moodle Core APIs and develop or refine Moodle plugins and themes.
• Ensure security and performance best practices are followed, safeguarding against vulnerabilities.

Key Skills:

• Expertise in PHP and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• Solid understanding of SQL for data management.
• Familiarity with Moodle's infrastructure and Core APIs.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and tools like Postman or Insomnia.
• Ability to handle JSON and XML data formats effectively.
• Knowledge of security best practices against XSS, CSRF, and SQL injection.
• Experience in a Docker-based environment and version control with Git.
