Summary: The Senior Legal Counsel will provide comprehensive legal support to the Global Markets business of a leading bank in the UAE, focusing on derivatives and structured products. The role involves drafting and negotiating transaction documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and managing legal aspects of debt issuance. Additionally, the position includes advising on custody agreements and supporting the in-house documentation team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting and negotiating derivatives transaction documentation, particularly structured derivatives across all asset classes.
- Drafting and negotiating securities lending and repo transaction documentation.
- Advising on transaction structuring in compliance with regulatory requirements such as EMIR, Dodd-Frank, and MiFID2.
- Managing legal aspects of issuing bonds and structured notes in both conventional and Islamic formats.
- Providing legal guidance to the Global Markets Documentation Team on drafting derivatives master agreements.
- Negotiating custody agreements and advising on structured custody solutions.
Key Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of derivatives and structured products.
- Experience with debt capital markets and custody.
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
- Understanding of regulatory compliance (EMIR, Dodd-Frank, MiFID2).
- Ability to manage legal aspects of bond and structured note issuance.
