Summary: Baer is seeking an experienced SAP Procure-to-Pay Consultant for a 12+ month remote project focused on upgrading financial and procurement systems for a branch of the Department of Defense. The role involves hands-on configuration and enterprise structure expertise to support the transition from SAP ECC to S/4HANA. Key responsibilities include gathering requirements, developing documentation, and ensuring alignment with S/4HANA standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in P2P processes and government sector engagements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gathering business requirements and translating them into clear functional and technical specifications, including developing user stories to support agile delivery of P2P solutions.
  • Developing and maintaining user documentation for delivered P2P solutions to support ongoing production operations.
  • Leveraging deep configuration skills to execute baseline configuration of the Procurement and Accounts Payable modules, ensuring alignment with client requirements and S/4HANA standards.
  • Engaging in hands-on prototyping exercises to validate configurations and test potential solutions, ensuring that the system meets business process requirements.
  • Analyzing current Procurement and Accounts Payable processes and mapping them to S/4HANA standards to identify deviations from the standard configuration.
  • Designing and configuring Enterprise Structure elements including purchasing organizations, plants, storage locations, and company codes to support the alignment with S/4HANA s architecture.
  • Ensuring the creation and validation of master data elements specific to Procurement and Accounts Payable, such as vendor master data, purchasing info records, and payment terms, to enhance operational accuracy.
  • Establishing cross-module integration points between Procurement and Accounts Payable with other modules such as Finance (FI), Materials Management (MM), and Controlling (CO), ensuring efficient data flow and process consistency.

Key Skills:

  • 9+ years of hands-on experience in SAP Procure-to-Pay (P2P) with deep configuration and Enterprise Structure expertise.
  • Proven experience with S/4HANA implementations, preferably within the federal government or A&D sectors.
  • Experience deploying functional and technical subject-matter expertise in a particular relevant field in support of State or Federal Government agencies or large, complex companies (greater than 1,000 employees).
  • Department of Defense (DoD), Federal Public Sector, or government regulated industry experience (i.e.: Aerospace & Defense) experience required. Army or Navy experience is preferred.
  • Interim or Active Secret Clearance Required.
