Salt Stack Infrastructure Automation Engineer :: Remote

Summary: The Salt Stack Infrastructure Automation Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining automation solutions using SaltStack. This role requires extensive experience in infrastructure automation and collaboration with DevOps and Cloud teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines. The position is remote and focuses on optimizing workflows and ensuring security compliance across managed systems. Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain SaltStack-based automation and orchestration solutions.
• Develop configuration management modules and states for Linux/Windows servers.
• Implement infrastructure-as-code principles to standardize system provisioning and deployments.
• Troubleshoot automation issues and optimize SaltStack workflows for performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate with DevOps and Cloud teams to integrate SaltStack with CI/CD pipelines and monitoring tools.
• Maintain security and compliance across managed systems.

Key Skills:

• 6+ years of experience in infrastructure automation or DevOps engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with SaltStack (Salt Master, Minions, States, Pillars, Grains, etc.).
• Solid knowledge of Linux system administration (RedHat, Ubuntu, CentOS).
• Proficiency in Python or Bash scripting for automation and module development.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Bamboo) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
• Familiarity with other configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef) is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with a strong focus on automation reliability.
