Summary: My client is seeking a Contract React/Next.js Engineering Lead for a 3-6 month role focused on a public sector digital transformation programme. The position involves leading front-end development for a digital portal, requiring expertise in React and Next.js. The role is primarily remote with some travel to Cardiff and requires BPSS Clearance. The contract offers a competitive daily rate within the specified range.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead technical design and implementation of a customer-facing portal using React, TypeScript, and preferably Next.js.
- Collaborate with architects, content designers, .NET engineers, and stakeholders.
- Deliver clean, scalable, secure and WCAG 2.2 AA compliant code.
- Mentor developers, lead code reviews, and champion engineering best practices.
- Implement robust testing across unit, integration and E2E levels.
Key Skills:
- Expert-level React/TypeScript development.
- Strong experience in Next.js and/or .NET Core.
- Agile, test-driven development mindset (Jest, Cypress, etc.).
- Experience in leading dev teams and shaping technical direction.
- Understanding of accessibility, CI/CD pipelines, and Git workflows.
Salary (Rate): £530 daily
