Synon Developer (IBM i (AS/400, iSeries)

Summary: The Synon Developer role focuses on designing, developing, testing, and maintaining applications using the Synon/2E modeling tool on IBM i systems. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to troubleshoot production issues and ensure effective deployment support. Candidates should possess extensive experience in application development on IBM i and proficiency in relevant programming languages and tools. Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using Synon/2E (CA 2E) modeling tool.
• Write or modify RPG/RPGLE, CL, and DB2/400 components generated from Synon models.
• Participate in solution design.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues on IBM i.
• Perform system documentation and code reviews.
• Collaborate with business users, QA teams, and other developers.
• Provide support during deployments and post-production.

Key Skills:

• 5+ years of experience in application development on IBM i (AS/400, iSeries).
• Proficiency in CA 2E (Synon/2E) modeling tool.
• Strong hands-on experience with RPG III/IV, RPGLE, and CLP.
• Solid knowledge of DB2/400 and embedded SQL.
