Summary: The Principal DevOps Engineer will provide technical leadership to a cross-functional team, focusing on translating architectural designs into actionable tasks and driving data-driven decisions. The role requires hands-on coding, mentoring, and collaboration within a dynamic and agile environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong back-end development skills, particularly in Java and AWS services, and be capable of fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Additional vetting is required for this position due to security clearance needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate architectural designs to task backlogs and determine the optimal order for delivery.
- Form and test hypotheses on technical approaches to diverse problems.
- Define technical tasks and estimate implementation effort.
- Present evidence to support data-driven decisions for product teams.
- Code with maintainability in mind and champion agile best practices.
- Mentor colleagues and collaborate with QAs and Business Analysts.
- Facilitate problem-solving and lead a team in a collaborative culture.
- Support team members in a hands-on capacity as needed.
Key Skills:
- Strong back-end development experience in Java/Spring Microservices on AWS Kubernetes.
- Proficiency with Hibernate, Debezium, and messaging technologies like SNS/SQS.
- Experience with AWS services including RDS Postgres, Open Search, and API Gateway.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and version control using GIT.
- Front-end development skills in Docker, REACT, Node.JS, and Storybook.
- Experience in agile software development and test-driven development (TDD).
- Ability to mentor and support team members in a collaborative environment.
