Summary: The Technical Pre-Sales Consultant role involves creating and presenting bespoke technical solutions primarily focused on IT Infrastructure and Networking for a leading organization. The consultant will engage with clients and internal teams to understand requirements and support the development of IT strategies. This position requires strong technical knowledge, particularly in Microsoft technologies, and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively. The role is remote with occasional travel to client sites as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consult and engage with internal and client stakeholders to gather and understand requirements for the creation of technical proposals
  • Support client discovery sessions to aid clients develop their IT strategy, capability and roadmaps
  • Play a key role in (primarily in-bound) deals, demonstrating commercial competency through accurate pricing/rate cards
  • Support a mix of small and large technical, Infrastructure & Networking technology-centric implementations
  • Collaborate with Account Managers and Professional Services to resolve issues during project delivery
  • Assess and improve the effectiveness of provided proposals
  • Bring a fresh pair of eyes and offer creative and technically advanced solutions where appropriate

Key Skills:

  • Proven track-record in technical Pre-Sales aligned to Microsoft technologies
  • Solid understanding of key technical concepts (e.g. security, availability, accessibility, optimisation)
  • Excellent communicator, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Deep technical knowledge of M365, IT Infrastructure & Networking
  • Exceptional client/stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to produce accurate, high-quality proposals and technical solutions
  • Commercially competent
  • Experienced in managing, prioritising and delivering multiple projects simultaneously
  • Microsoft certified (or equivalent experience)
  • Understanding of emerging technologies (e.g. cloud automation, AI)
  • UK Security Cleared (desirable, not mandatory)

Technical Pre-Sales Consultant

CPS Group UK are delighted to be seeking a seasoned IT Infrastructure-centric Pre-Sales Technical Consultant to join a leading organisation. Being able to hit the ground running here will be key and the Technical Pre-Sales Consultant will be expected to create, cost, present bespoke technical solutions to customers.

Collaborating cross-functionally with external vendors, clients and internal teams, the Pre-Sales Technical Consultant will demonstrate commercial competency as well as technical capability to deliver a range of small-medium deals as part of an established pre-sales function, to a mix of public and private sector clients.

The Technical Pre-Sales Consultant will possess excellent Microsoft-biased technical knowledge, chiefly in areas including IT Infrastructure & Networking.

*This is a UK-remote role, though ad-hoc travel to client/HQ sites will be required*

Role Requirements
