Summary: The Power BI Developer role is a fully remote, 6-month contract focused on delivering a significant project for a major client. The position requires an experienced specialist to lead the design and implementation of BI solutions using Power BI, transforming complex data into actionable insights. The developer will collaborate with various stakeholders and ensure data governance and security while staying updated with the latest trends in Power BI. This role is classified as outside IR35, emphasizing the need for a proactive and skilled individual who can quickly adapt to project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- End to end requirements capture, design and implementation of BI solutions using Power BI
- Connect PBI to and join diverse data sources to establish optimised data models
- Create considered and user-tailored data visualisations to facilitate insight
- Interact with business stakeholders to determine requirements
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical team members, clients, business analysts, and data engineers
- Troubleshoot data and PBI related issues and maintain PBI infrastructure
- Ensure data governance and security, utilizing security features within PBI such as row level security
- Stay updated with the latest trends and developments in Power BI and data visualisation
Key Skills:
- Proficient with PBI desktop and PBI service
- Data modelling
- Advanced DAX and Power Query M Code
- MSSQL
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Proactive, motivated, and curious with a focus on continuous improvement
- Degree in Computer Science or related and/or experience in a similar role (preferred)
- Knowledge of Power BI admin portal (preferred)
- Knowledge of Power BI capacity management (preferred)
