Summary: The role of Commercial Pilot Instructor/Trainer involves leading the implementation of Competency-Based Training & Assessment (CBTA) and Evidence-Based Training (EBT) programs for global airline customers. This position requires extensive experience in pilot training and management within an airline setting, focusing on enhancing aviation safety and training efficacy. The instructor will work remotely with international travel, providing expertise and support to airline training departments. The role is critical in developing capable aviation professionals and ensuring compliance with regulatory training requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a CBTA Deployment team of subject matter experts at a customer airline to assess their needs for transitioning to a CBTA/EBT program.
- Utilize prior instructor experience to review pilot training requirements, ensuring the development of appropriate competency-based training content, objectives, and design.
- Oversee airline development, delivery, and evaluation of CBTA programs.
- Evaluate current airline training philosophies and provide support during their transition to a CBTA/EBT program.
- Gather data and provide detailed reports to support airline CBTA development initiatives.
- Assess accuracy and quality of airline training delivery, presenting proposals to customers and providing consultation on CBTA program implementation.
Key Skills:
- Possession of or prior experience holding a commercial pilot license, preferably with previous experience operating Boeing aircraft.
- Minimum of 3 years in a management position within an airline Flight Operations or Training Department.
- Strong understanding of pilot training program regulatory requirements.
- Comprehensive knowledge of CBTA and EBT principles.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Proven experience in leading a team remotely and independently.
- Understanding of Safety Management Systems (SMS) and their application to pilot training.
- Extensive pilot instructional background (TRI/TRE) with more than 3 years of experience.
- Demonstrated success in delivering complex projects within the commercial airline training sector.
- Knowledge of project and program management principles and practices.
