Summary: Jasper Health is seeking a Per Diem LCSW, Oncology Counselor to provide essential behavioral health counseling and psychosocial support to cancer patients. The role involves conducting mental health assessments, developing treatment plans, and coordinating care with other healthcare professionals. The counselor will also assist patients in navigating community resources and addressing emotional and financial challenges associated with cancer. This position is remote and requires a licensed clinical social worker with experience in oncology settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct virtual comprehensive mental health evaluations/assessments to identify and address patients' emotional and social issues related to their cancer diagnosis.
- Develop and implement treatment plans focusing on behavior modification, anxiety reduction, and stress management to support patients through their cancer journey.
- Offer ongoing therapeutic support and case management, including cancer navigation services, to assist patients in managing their care effectively.
- Accurately prepare and maintain treatment and progress reports, ensuring documentation meets Private Insurance and Medicare standards.
- Collaborate with other agencies and healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care and support for patients.
- Provide timely and effective responses to crisis situations, including suicide risk assessments and the development of appropriate intervention plans and referrals.
- Guide patients in accessing community resources, acting as an advocate and liaison for patients and their families.
- Stay informed about local and regional cancer resources to enhance patient support and care.
Key Skills:
- Current LCSW state licensure in multiple states encouraged.
- Proven experience in behavioral health and case management within oncology settings.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of community resources and crisis intervention strategies.
- Knowledge of billing psychotherapy codes.
