Summary: BAE Systems is looking for a Naval Design Engineer to enhance their engineering team by developing and reviewing engineering drawings at Stage 1 of the design process. The role emphasizes interface and integration, facilitating collaboration with suppliers and detail design teams. The engineer will produce layout drawings for aviation compartments to support subsequent modeling stages. This position requires a focus on initial design development rather than detailed design work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the engineering team in developing and reviewing engineering drawings at Stage 1.
• Produce layout drawings for aviation compartments for stakeholder review.
• Ensure seamless collaboration with suppliers and detail design teams.
• Move design concepts forward through effective interface and integration.
• Review and refine engineering drawings as necessary.

Key Skills:

• Stage 1 engineering experience.
• Experience in disciplines such as Outfit Engineering, Layout Engineering, Auxiliaries Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong understanding of ship, marine, and naval engineering.
• Experience working with suppliers and detail design teams.
• Ability to review and refine engineering drawings.
• Engineering expertise is essential; Chartered or IENG status is not required.
• Focus on integration and interfaces rather than detailed design.
