Summary: This role is a Contract to Hire position for a SQL Server Administrator, primarily focused on remote work within Central/Eastern time zones. The candidate will be responsible for administering SQL Server databases, resolving issues, and ensuring the stability and performance of the database systems. The position requires strong expertise in various database platforms and performance tuning, along with the ability to develop and implement database policies and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer SQL Server databases (2016, 2017, 2019, 2022, 2025).
- Identify, research, resolve, and respond to a high volume of issues from internal and external customers.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the database system to meet ongoing business needs.
- Conduct logical and physical database design, structure testing, and security administration.
- Plan and conduct structured testing of database designs to confirm functionality and performance.
- Lead task forces to develop and implement an Enterprise database system.
- Develop and implement policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines for database administration.
- Oversee the development of complex data models and logical database design.
- Perform other duties as assigned and support the organization's quality programs.
- Administer company personnel policies and follow staffing standards and training recommendations.
Key Skills:
- 4+ years of experience administering SQL Server.
- Expertise in database platforms such as SQL Server, Oracle, HANA, MariaDB, and Progress DB.
- Experience with performance tuning and clustering, including AlwaysOn Availability Groups and replication.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting.
- Familiarity with tools like Redgate, Idera, and GoldenGate.
