Summary: This role is for a Remote W2 Contract Network Storage Engineer with a focus on migrating storage solutions and managing various storage platforms. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with NetApp, VAST, and CIFS, along with proficiency in VMware and Windows operating systems. The position requires collaboration with IT teams to ensure optimal performance and reliability of storage solutions. Candidates in CST/EST time zones are preferred for this opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Migration of storage mapped to a DFS namespace from NetApp to VAST. Day to day management of legacy NetApp, VAST, and CIFS platforms.
- Management of Dell PowerVault and PowerStore arrays as part of a VMWare environment.
- Monitor and optimize storage availability, performance and capacity.
- Manage data protection and disaster recovery services and strategies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve storage-related issues.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate storage solutions with existing infrastructure.
- Maintain documentation and provide training to team members.
- Manage and support VMware environments.
- Administer and maintain Windows operating systems.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience with PowerVault, Powerstore, NetApp, VAST, CIFS platforms, VMware, and Windows operating systems.
- Strong understanding of storage protocols and technologies.
- Experience with data protection and disaster recovery solutions.
- Experience with DELL APEX AIOps, DELL Open Manage Enterprise and VMware Aria Suite.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
