Summary: The PON Engineer is responsible for deploying new technologies and upgrades to the Access network infrastructure, with a significant focus on analysis, design, development, and testing. The role requires experience with Calix, NetBrain, and Servicenow, and involves implementation of hardware/software, lifecycle management, and project collaboration. The engineer will also assist in creating documentation and perform on-call duties as needed. This position demands a proactive approach to resolving project issues with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs implementation of new hardware and/or software as it relates to Access Engineering projects.
  • Maintains the lifecycle management environment within the Data Center and Local Offices; Assists with upgrades to the Access Infrastructure and all-inclusive IP routing.
  • Assists with the creation of Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation for configuration templates, method of procedures, network diagrams, knowledge base articles, bill of materials and support documentation.
  • The ability to drive resolution to projects and issues with little supervision.
  • Analyzes project requests to estimate time and cost.
  • Works as part of a project team to determine requirements, risks, and limitations for each project scope.
  • Performs on-call duties, customer equipment escalations, and overnight network changes as assigned.

Key Skills:

  • 5+ years experience.
