Summary: The Mechanical Process Design Manager will work with a FTSE 100 organization in the nuclear sector on a 12-month remote contract, requiring occasional visits to the Plymouth site. This role focuses on designing mechanical service or process systems within a highly regulated environment. The position demands strong technical expertise and line management experience. The successful candidate will be compensated at an hourly rate between £70 and £87.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design mechanical service or process systems.
• Ensure compliance with regulations in a highly regulated industry, preferably nuclear.
• Perform hydraulic or pressure calculations.
• Conduct hazard identification and analysis associated with process systems (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP).
• Manage a team of 3+ direct reports.

Key Skills:

• Experience in designing mechanical service or process systems.
• Experience in a highly regulated industry, with a strong preference for nuclear.
• Understanding of hydraulic or pressure calculations.
• Knowledge of hazard identification and analysis methods (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP).
• BEng/BSc in mechanical engineering or a similar degree.
