Summary: The role of Locum Education Psychologist involves providing psychological advice and support to children and young people, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN), within maintained schools and academies in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Candidates must have significant experience and relevant qualifications, including a doctorate or master's in Educational Psychology. The position requires commitment to a minimum of three assessments per month and participation in multi-agency support efforts. Reports will be reviewed and critiqued, ensuring high standards of practice are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide psychological advice and support to SEN services and other officers for children and young people aged 0 - 25.
- Act as a consultant on psychological matters with parents, carers, teachers, and other professionals.
- Contribute to multi-agency support for children and young people.
- Prepare and maintain written records.
- Provide statutory advice to local authorities in accordance with the SEN code of practice.
- Attend SEN and disability tribunals as required by the local authority.
- Commit to a minimum of three assessments per month until March 2025.
- Submit two anonymised reports with CV for review.
Key Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Educational Psychologist.
- PhD, Doctorate, or Master's in Educational Psychology or equivalent.
- Ability to provide statutory advice in accordance with the SEN code of practice.
- Strong communication and consultation skills.
- Experience in multi-agency collaboration.
- Ability to prepare and maintain accurate written records.
- Willingness to attend tribunals as required.
