Summary: We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer specializing in Java to lead a digital transformation team. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining secure digital services in compliance with Government Digital Service standards. The candidate will oversee a team of developers and ensure the delivery of reliable public-facing services. This position requires BPSS/SC clearance or eligibility for it, and is classified as inside IR35 for a 12-month contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain robust Back End microservices and responsive Front End user interfaces.
- Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary agile team to deliver reliable, public-facing digital services.
- Ensure application security, performance, and adherence to clean code standards.
- Integrate systems using event-driven architectures and modern API gateways.
Key Skills:
- Strong core experience in Java (11), including Spring Boot and Maven.
- Practical experience designing and deploying microservices.
- Experience with messaging and streaming tools such as ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, or Apache Kafka.
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, with strong experience in Node.js and ReactJS.
- Hands-on experience with AWS hosting and services.
- Continuous integration and code quality management using Git, GitLab CI, Jenkins, and SonarQube.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain robust Back End microservices and responsive Front End user interfaces.
Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary agile team to deliver reliable, public-facing digital services.
Ensure application security, performance, and adherence to clean code standards.
Integrate systems using event-driven architectures and modern API gateways
Technical Requirements
Back End Development, CI/CD and API gateways
Java (11): Strong core experience, including Spring Boot and Maven.
Microservices: Practical experience designing and deploying microservices.
Event-Driven Architecture: Messaging and streaming tools including ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, or Apache Kafka.
API Management: Experience routing and securing APIs using API Gateway - Kong.
Front End Development
Core Web Technologies: High proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
JavaScript Frameworks: Strong experience with Node.js and ReactJS.
Template Engines: UI development using Nunjucks or Freemarker.
Cloud and DevOps CI/CD Pipeline
Cloud Platform: Hands-on experience with AWS hosting and services.
CI Tooling and Quality: Continuous integration and code quality management using Git, GitLab CI, Jenkins, and SonarQube.
You will be eligible for full BPSS and SC clearance and have a background in Central Government full stack development including working with GDS.
