Summary: Required for a six-month initial contract, a junior Legal Counsel is needed to join an in-house Legal Licensing and Business Development team, with the role based in either London or Stockholm. The position involves reviewing, drafting, negotiating, and managing commercial agreements while collaborating with various teams. The candidate should have a law degree and 2-3 years of post-qualification experience, along with strong stakeholder management skills. This role is suitable for someone who can work autonomously and has experience with commercial agreements, particularly in technology and media.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, draft, negotiate and manage a wide range of commercial agreements, including reseller and distribution agreements.
- Collaborate with in-house accounting, finance and licensing teams on the drafting and implementation of agreements.
- Improve standard form agreements and legal processes.
- Advise the business on relevant legal contexts, issues and risks, complex agreement structures, approval processes, and company policies and procedures.
Key Skills:
- Law Degree (or equivalent).
- Ability to practice in the UK or Sweden (as applicable).
- 2-3 years of post-qualification experience.
- Team player with an ability to work autonomously.
- Previous experience partnering with global stakeholders and partners.
- Track record of working with a wide range of commercial agreements (any focus on technology, business development, content licensing, media and IP deal a bonus).
