Summary: The Interim Capital Accountant role is a fully remote position focused on supporting financial operations within a local government organization in South West England. The successful candidate will be responsible for capital accounting and audit requirements, particularly for the 2024/25 year-end. This role requires collaboration with officers to review and enhance current processes, as well as assist with the implementation of IFRS16. The position offers a competitive daily rate and the flexibility to work from anywhere.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with officers to prepare and deliver 2024/25 year-end capital accounting and audit requirements, including working papers.
• Review current processes and procedures with officers, updating and amending as necessary.
• Assist with the implementation of IFRS16 as required.

• Proven experience in capital accounting, preferably within a local government or public sector environment.
• Strong understanding of IFRS16 and its implementation.
