Summary: The Integration Lead Engineer will spearhead the integration of secure health data platforms within a critical digital programme in the health tech sector. This role involves managing a small team of application support engineers and providing expert-level support for InterSystems platforms in a complex interoperability environment. The position requires hands-on DevOps experience and a strong understanding of healthcare messaging standards. The role is remote with occasional travel and is classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a small team of application support engineers across production and development environments
- Act as the main point of contact for incident, change, and problem management, including service performance reporting
- Provide expert-level support for InterSystems platforms including HealthShare, HealthConnect, IRIS, and related components such as EMPI, Patient Directory (PD), and the Integration Engine
- Manage and improve data integration workflows and interoperability standards using HL7 v2/v3, FHIR, CDA, and X12
- Oversee application lifecycle and DevOps practices within Azure cloud environments
- Ensure high availability, automation, and CI/CD pipeline efficiency
- Collaborate with delivery managers and Agile teams to ensure seamless application updates
- Promote best practices and a culture of continuous improvement
Key Skills:
- Demonstrable experience leading Agile teams of application support engineers
- Deep technical understanding of InterSystems HealthShare/HealthConnect, including real-world integration with HL7, FHIR, IRIS, EMPI, and Integration Engines
- Familiarity with healthcare messaging standards (e.g., HL7, CDA, FHIR)
- Strong grasp of ITIL service management frameworks
- Hands-on experience supporting cloud-based applications in Azure environments
- SC Cleared (active and transferrable) – or eligible for clearance (client can sponsor for strong candidates)
- ITIL Certification (desirable)
- Experience using Azure DevOps, Jira, and automated deployment tools (desirable)
