Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and fine-tune IMS databases for performance and reliability.
• Execute point-in-time recoveries and forward recovery procedures.
• Manage DBRC/RECON setups and generate related reporting.
• Update, reorganize, and maintain IMS database records and definitions.
• Utilize IBM and third-party utilities for database maintenance.
• Support developers in resolving DBRC issues in test environments.
• Troubleshoot production abends involving IMS.
• Refresh lower environments with production IMS data backups.
• Provide after-hours support for mainframe batch schedules and JCL/COBOL jobs.
• Maintain and enhance mainframe job schedules and production control operations.
• Support software upgrade cycles and disaster recovery testing in coordination with infrastructure partners.
• Ensure compliance with mainframe standards and participate in change/problem management.
• Develop deployment procedures and documentation for application releases.
• Expand and configure application environments for new development projects.

Key Skills:

• Experience with z/OS Systems platform administration.
• Hands-on IMS database administration in a mainframe environment.
• Deep expertise with DBRC, including forward recoveries and RECON management.
• Proficiency in z/OS utilities: TSO, SYSVIEW/SDSF, JSF, IDCAMS, IEBGENER, IEFBR14.
• Experience supporting Batch and CICS COBOL, with strong problem-solving ability.
• Expertise in developing and debugging complex JCL.
• Working knowledge of JCL, CICS, VSAM, and TSO environments.
• Experience writing and debugging REXX programs on z/OS.
• Familiarity with IMS HAL databases and IMS Catalog functions.
• Hands-on experience with Top Secret security setup, administration, and auditing.
• Knowledge of mainframe printer configuration and IPPrintway.
• Skilled in ISPF panels, skeletons, and REXX integration.
• Practical experience using ISMF storage functions.
• Working knowledge of batch SFTP and FTPS for secure data transfers.
• Familiar with Informatica PowerExchange for change data capture using IMS/VSAM datasets.
• Experience supporting logically related IMS databases in application ecosystems.
