Summary: The IBM MQ Infra Admin role is a contract position focused on managing middleware tools and applications hosted on Unix/Linux platforms. The candidate must possess strong experience in IBM MQ administration, security certificate lifecycle management, and automation scripting. The position is remote, requiring a technology stack with at least 7 years of relevant experience. Key skills include expertise in various Unix/Linux environments and middleware services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage tools and applications hosted on Unix/Linux platforms (Red Hat Linux, IBM AIX, IBM iOS, & Amazon Linux).
  • Administer middleware tools including IBM MQ, IBM WebSphere, and Apache Tomcat.
  • Oversee security certificate lifecycle management and vulnerability mitigation on middleware tools and Unix/Linux OS platforms.
  • Implement scripting and automation using Shell, Bash, and Ansible.
  • Administer IBM power P20 series (HMC/VIOS/LAPR/IBM Mksysb).
  • Manage OS configuration using RHEL Satellite and AWS Systems Manager.
  • Utilize observability and monitoring tools on Unix/Linux for log aggregation, metrics, tracing, and automated log roll-off.

Key Skills:

  • 7+ years of experience managing tools and applications on Unix/Linux platforms.
  • Strong experience in middleware tool administration (IBM MQ, IBM WebSphere, Apache Tomcat).
  • Security certificate lifecycle management and vulnerability mitigation skills.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (Shell, Bash, Ansible).
  • Experience with IBM power P20 series administration.
