Summary: The IBM FileNet Specialist Consultant role involves leading the design, configuration, and optimization of IBM FileNet P8 and associated services. The consultant will also manage integrations, ensure compliance, and support upgrades while collaborating with cross-functional teams. This position requires extensive experience with IBM FileNet technologies and a strong focus on operational excellence. The role is remote and classified as outside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead design, configuration, administration, and optimization of IBM FileNet P8, Content Engine (CE), Process Engine (PE), and associated services.
  • Configure and customize IBM Content Navigator (ICN), including plug-ins, desktop configurations, layouts, role-based UI, and integration with external systems.
  • Implement, enhance, and support IBM Case Manager (ICM) or IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW) solutions including case types, workflows, rules, and integration patterns.
  • Manage packaging, deployment, and migration activities using FileNet Deployment Manager (FDM) across dev, test, and production environments.
  • Lead performance tuning, capacity planning, troubleshooting, and platform stabilization activities for FileNet and automation ecosystem components.
  • Integrate FileNet with enterprise applications, identity providers, external storage systems, scanners, capture tools, and productivity applications including IBM Navigator for Microsoft Office (NMO).
  • Ensure robust content lifecycle management security, retention, metadata management, auditing, classification, and compliance alignment.
  • Support upgrades, patches, environment refreshes, containerization, and modernization (OpenShift / Kubernetes-based deployments preferred).
  • Work with business teams to define requirements, create technical design documents (TDD), solution architecture, and deployment runbooks.
  • Drive operational excellence root cause analysis, incident resolution, logging, monitoring, and continuous improvement recommendations.
  • Collaborate across cross-functional teams (ECM, infrastructure, security, DevOps, integration) to ensure end-to-end solution reliability.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to internal knowledge repositories, best practices, and accelerators.

Key Skills:

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience with IBM FileNet P8 platform Content Engine, Process Engine, Workplace XT/ICN, and WebSphere/Liberty-based deployments.
  • Strong experience in IBM Content Navigator (ICN) customization & administration.
  • IBM Case Manager / Business Automation Workflow (BAW).
  • FileNet Deployment Manager (FDM) packaging & migration.
  • IBM Navigator for Microsoft Office (NMO) configuration & support.
  • Expertise in FileNet object store configuration, metadata models, workflows, event actions, security models, and content search.
