Summary: The role of EHC Plan Writer involves crafting high-quality Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The position requires collaboration with SEND professionals and families to ensure plans are legally compliant and tailored to individual needs. This is a temporary, freelance position that offers flexibility in working hours and is fully remote. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in writing EHCPs and a strong understanding of SEND legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write clear, concise, and legally compliant EHCPs that reflect the child or young person's needs, outcomes, and provision.
- Work collaboratively with SEND professionals, families, and education settings to gather and interpret relevant reports and information.
- Ensure all plans adhere to current legislation, statutory guidance, and local authority standards.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience working within a local authority SEND team.
- Demonstrable track record of writing good quality EHCPs.
- Excellent organisational, analytical, and written communication skills.
- A detailed understanding of the SEND Code of Practice.
- Experience as a SEND Caseworker (desirable).
