Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for day-to-day operations of shipboard Lab and testing environments.
  • Participate in the research, planning, and implementation of technical solutions for shoreside offices and shipside departments.
  • Maintain expertise with back-office applications in the cruise and hospitality industries.
  • Perform other job-related functions as assigned.

Key Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of experience in support of packaged and back-office applications.
  • Preferred experience with shipboard application systems and projects.
  • Previous cruise industry experience required.

Location: REMOTE

Length: 6 months contract to hire

Basic Purpose:

Responsible for application, operational, and technical support for back-office applications onboard the vessels and across all brands. Provides thought leadership and day-to-day operational support for research and development and new technology rollouts to the ships.

Expected results include implementation of system enhancements, internal/external development and support efforts, and support of the shipboard lab environment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide varying levels of production support for the following applications: Fidelio, Micros, Simphony, Apass, Embarkation, Gangway Security, other Point of Sale Systems, VING, Avero, Mobile Applications, Key Cards, and RFID.
  • Work in all phases of project development and deployment: Initiation, Planning, Executing, and Closing.
  • Lead shipboard projects (upgrades, dry docks, NewBuilds, enhancements), requiring server/application builds in our lab environments and on-site shipboard deployments.
  • Responsible for day-to-day operations of shipboard Lab and testing environments. Work with teams responsible for equipment and associated processes.
  • Participate in the research, planning and implementation of technical solutions that will meet present and future systems needs of regional shoreside offices and shipside departments within the context of corporate needs and goals.
  • Maintain a high level of expertise with back-office applications in the cruise and hospitality industries. Seeks the most effective alternatives to present to executives to meet the needs of the business and the ships.
  • Perform other job-related functions as assigned.

Knowledge and experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT Engineering and/or Technology related field of study, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 5 years of experience in support of packaged applications and back-office applications and technical systems.
  • Preferred experience with shipboard application systems and projects. Previous cruise industry experience required.
