Summary: The Fibre Planner role within an international telecommunications organization involves overseeing the planning of Fibre Networks to support site closure projects primarily in Scotland. The position requires strong managerial experience, Health and Safety accreditations, and extensive hands-on experience as a Fibre Network Engineer. The role is remote with minimal site visits and requires a full UK driving license for travel to various sites. The ideal candidate will collaborate with project teams and external partners to ensure network integrity and compliance with organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the Project Team to ensure minimal impact during network site closures.
- Collaborate with External Partners to ensure work is completed to standards and on time.
- Verify Network Fitness and ensure accurate representation in the GIS system.
- Conduct detailed Network Audits to ensure records are correct.
- Coordinate with the Fibre Delivery Manager for updated information.
- Identify and communicate risks to stakeholders promptly.
- Attend Project Meetings to represent Fibre planning.
- Prepare high-level and low-level designs, including splicing schedules and schematics.
- Update records with the records team to ensure all updates are completed.
Key Skills:
- Extensive experience as a Fibre Network Engineer.
- Strong managerial experience.
- Health and Safety accreditations (IOSH, NEBOSH).
- GIS experience and knowledge of national networks.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
Salary (Rate): £75,000.00
