Detailed Description From Employer:

Your New Company We’re delighted to be representing a boutique Cayman Islands law firm in their search for several talented paralegals to join their team, undertaking a large discovery project for a listed company client. This is a 6 month contract and a remote working role, offering flexibility and an excellent salary. You will be required to meet in Belfast with the rest of the legal team during the first week of the project. If you’re based outside of Northern Ireland, such as England, Wales or Scotland, travel expenses will be covered, subject to agreement. As the firm is based in Cayman, the hours of work will be from 11am to 7pm.

Your New Role In your new role as discovery paralegal, you will play a crucial role in the litigation process, especially during the pre-trial phase when both parties exchange information. Here's a breakdown of your key responsibilities:

  • Legal Document Review: Conduct privilege and responsiveness reviews.
  • eDiscovery Coordination: Work directly with lead eDiscovery counsel to manage workflows and ensure compliance with discovery policies.
  • Data Analysis & Redaction: Analyze documents and media files, apply redactions to privileged or sensitive information.
  • Litigation Support: Assist attorneys and IT teams to ensure discoverability of data across evolving technologies.
  • Research & Outreach: Locate and gather materials responsive to requests, including informal interviews and document searches.
  • Reporting: Provide weekly status updates to Assistant General Counsels and other stakeholders.
  • Classification Reviews: Coordinate with subject matter experts to ensure proper document classification.

What You Need To Succeed Qualifications: As the Discovery Paralegal you will; Hold a degree in law. Have 3+ years gained in discovery/eDiscovery, with one large project undertaken. (Candidates with less than 3 years, will be considered subject to experience). Possess the ability to work autonomously and as part of a broader team. Handle sensitive information with discretion. Be proficient in the use of Microsoft packages and exposure to the use of other discovery software technology would be advantageous.

What You'll Receive In Return This is predominantly a remote working position:- you will have the flexibility to be able to work from home. Given the contract nature of the role, a highly competitive salary is also on offer. You will form part of a high performance discovery team working on a high profile litigation matter with a listed client.
