Summary: The role of DevOps Engineer focuses on supporting a major digital transformation programme within a leading public sector organization. The position requires expertise in AWS and Terraform to design and maintain cloud-native infrastructure. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to ensure efficient CI/CD workflows and automate infrastructure processes. This is a remote position based in the UK, with an initial requirement to collect equipment on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform
- Manage and optimise cloud infrastructure on AWS
- Work closely with development, security, and operations teams to ensure smooth CI/CD workflows
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, scaling, and monitoring
- Support containerisation and orchestration tools (e.g. Docker, ECS, or EKS)
- Ensure all infrastructure is secure, scalable, and compliant with government standards
Key Skills:
- Strong commercial experience with AWS
- Expertise in Terraform for infrastructure automation
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI)
- Good knowledge of containerisation and orchestration (Docker, ECS/EKS)
- Comfortable in Agile delivery environments
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
