Data Analyst II

Summary: AVA Consulting is looking for a Data Analyst II to perform complex data analysis and develop methodologies for data presentation. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders to provide insights and support strategic business decisions through accurate reporting. The position is remote and requires expertise in tools like Tableau and SQL. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or authorized to work in the U.S. as sponsorship is not available.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performs complex data analysis in support of ad-hoc and standing management or customer requests.
• Develops programs, methodologies, and files for analyzing and presenting data.
• Uses and supports database applications and analytical tools.
• Evaluates data quality, applications, and functions.
• Produces output and maintains operation. Researches new data sources and analytical tools.
• Contributes to new product development and improvement in product delivery and presentation.
• Develops awareness of and familiarity with issues and events affecting organization, department, and/or customer.
• Uses timely and appropriate participation of users/customers in data collection and query systems.
• Provides accurate and appropriate interpretation of data, applying knowledge to evaluation, analysis, and interpretation of data.
• Develops appropriate methodologies for collecting, analyzing, and presenting data products.
• Develops useful and insightful information from a variety of data sources.
• Works with management and/or customers to develop and understand product specifications.
• Communicates regularly and effectively with team members and management, and communicates results effectively to management and/or customers.
• Delivers data products in report/presentation format, or verbally, to management and/or customer specifications and timelines.
• Points out system or process problems when noticed and engages the team in problem solving.
• Facilitates satisfactory communication and resolution of problems.
• Collect vendor data and internal Client data and build into interactive visualizations in Tableau.
• Monitor, analyze, and report business metrics. Take ownership of scoping data needs and finding insights in the data.
• Provide expertise in tools such as Tableau, SQL, MS Excel, PowerPoint, etc. to conduct analysis, deliver accurate findings and create dashboard and insightful PowerPoint decks.
• Build and report inventory and GMV trends & insights for executive reporting. Provide commentary on changes and drivers.
• Build and maintain market growth & share models & charts on ongoing basis for each focus categories.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, vendors and internal Client teams to enable accurate and timely data-feeds to drive strategic business decisions through accurate monthly/quarterly reporting.
• Dig into Client data to create comparable metrics for competitive analysis.
• Support overall team goals and step into projects as directed for ad hoc day to day requests.
• Work closely with team members on vertical projects data gathering and research.
• Provide technical advice to the team on data availability, gathering methods and timeline for different projects.
• Take ownership of process improvement for the team to level up efficiency, automation and accuracy in data gathering and visualization.
• Regularly communicate progress, escalate risks, and completion of projects with manager.
• Take pride in close attention to detail and flawless execution; engage with frequent communication and guidance from project stakeholder to ensure deliverables are aligned with project goals.

Key Skills:

• Expertise in Tableau, SQL, MS Excel, PowerPoint; Python is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data.
• Experience in data visualization and reporting.
• Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and communicate findings effectively.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality execution.
• Experience in process improvement and automation in data gathering.
