Summary: The Core Network Architect role is a remote position focused on supporting the Nasstar Core Network and Security Services for a duration of 6 months. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the network's backbone infrastructure, while also managing workload and priorities effectively. This position requires proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to mentor junior engineers, all within an agile environment that emphasizes service excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and development of core network architecture.
- Implement best practices for network security, including risk mitigation strategies.
- Migration of services from legacy environments to Nasstar new core network.
- Has a natural aptitude for troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Embraces continual change and process improvement.
- Can express ideas and information clearly and concisely.
- Plans and manages own workflow on a daily basis to ensure the achievement of KPIs.
- Mentoring Junior Core Engineers.
- Proactively keeps up to date with technologies supported by Nasstar.
Key Skills:
- JNCIP-SP certification (essential).
- JNCIE certification (desirable).
- Experience within a Service Provider environment.
- Strong Core Network Design skills.
- Hands-on experience with Juniper, Cisco, and Fortinet.
- Network Analysis skills including Audit / Recommend / Remediate.
- Traffic Measurement expertise.
- Network Design skills including Vendor Best Practice HLD / LLD.

· A varied role to provide support to the Nasstar Core Network and Security Services
·To be successful in this role you will need to be agile in managing your workload and constantly re-evaluating priorities.
·Responsible for design, implementation, and maintenance of the backbone infrastructure of our network.
·You would be required to perform a variety of proactive tasks which will help maximise Core network uptime and prevent reoccurring issues.
Tasks will include resolving proactive monitoring alerts, deploying the latest security updates, systems maintenance and upgrading customer systems.
You will have the opportunity to work with the latest leading cutting-edge technologies in an agile environment that promotes systems and service excellence.
