Summary: The role is for a Java Developer at a leading investment bank in Birmingham, requiring strong skills in Java (11+), Spring/Spring Boot, and microservices architecture. The position is a 12-month contract, with a focus on candidates having 4 to 5.5 years of IT experience. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop software solutions using Java (11+), Spring/Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
  • Utilize Kafka for messaging and MongoDB for data storage.
  • Participate in the software development life cycle (SDLC).

  • Ensure high-quality code through attention to detail and self-motivation.

Key Skills:

  • 4 - 5.5 years of development experience, primarily in Java.
  • Proficiency in Java 11+, Spring/Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with Kafka and MongoDB.
  • Strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Excellent communication skills and analytical abilities.
  • Experience with GitLab and test automation tools (JUnit, Mocking, Gherkin) is a plus.

Salary (Rate): £500 daily

Detailed Description From Employer:

I am looking for a Java Developer to work for a World leading Investment bank located in Birmingham on a 12 month contract. You will be a Java Developer with strong skills in Java (11+), Spring / Spring Boot, Microservices Architecture, Kafka, Mongo DB and SDLC. We are looking for a candidate who has no more than 6 years worth of IT work experience, please do not apply if you have over 6 years worth of experience.

Skills:

  • 4 - 5.5 years of Development experience with a focus in Java
  • Java 11+
  • Spring / Spring Boot
  • Kafka for messaging - to some extent or equivalent
  • MongoDB - to some extent or equivalent
  • Experience working with microservices architecture
  • Strong understanding of SDLC
  • Excellent communication and follow-through, analytical, self-motivated, attention to detail

Nice to haves:

  • Gitlab - experience with others is generally fine, they can learn Gitlab
  • Test automation (JUnit, Mocking, Gherkin) - candidate does not need deep expertise in all, should have some general experience in automation
