Summary: Arootah is seeking experienced Cybersecurity Analysts to provide consulting services to Hedge Funds and Family Offices. The role involves implementing and maintaining cybersecurity programs, conducting assessments, and advising on best practices. Candidates should have hands-on experience in cybersecurity within the financial services sector. The position offers flexible hours and the ability to work remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct best practice reviews.
  • Develop realistic and effective action plans.
  • Break down goals into actionable steps.
  • Advise on vendor selection and oversight.
  • Create and implement policies, procedures, and control measures.
  • Evaluate client advancement toward goals using KPIs and scoring matrices.
  • Manage special projects or other areas of need.
  • Secure the firm’s information systems through technical expertise in network, system, and application security.
  • Install and configure security software to protect sensitive information.
  • Monitor network traffic and analyze logs to identify anomalies.
  • Lead vulnerability management and conduct cybersecurity assessments.
  • Implement organization-wide security best practices.
  • Test and analyze business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Assess new security technologies for potential value.
  • Execute incident response programs to prevent data breaches.
  • Review and respond to real-time alerts regarding security incidents.
  • Generate reports for stakeholders on security and compliance violations.

Key Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Certifications such as CEH, CISM, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, GSEC, GCIH, GNFA, GREM, or related SANS certifications.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Cybersecurity Analyst at a hedge fund or family office.
  • Experience with technology vendors and products like Splunk Cloud, Rapid7, Sophos, Varonis, ForeScout, or similar.
  • Understanding of Microsoft’s enterprise technology platform including Azure, Active Directory, SQL, Office365, and Windows OS.
  • Knowledge of security event management and network security monitoring.
  • Experience with security and compliance frameworks such as NIST, Cobit, and ISO.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills for communicating findings and recommendations.
