Summary: The Cloud Engineer / Windows Server Admin role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable technology assets using AWS cloud technologies while providing system administration and end-user support in a mixed Windows Server environment. The position requires hands-on solution engineering, API design, and automation of cloud infrastructure provisioning. The successful candidate will also implement security best practices and apply DevOps methodologies to enhance development and deployment processes. This is a remote position, but candidates must pick up equipment in person in Richmond, VA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable technology assets leveraging AWS cloud technologies.
- Provide end user support, system administration, and problem resolution in a mixed Windows Server environment.
- Hands-on solution engineering on the AWS cloud platform, designing APIs, and automating cloud infrastructure provisioning.
- Implement cloud networking concepts, including VPCs, subnets, and security groups.
- Adopt cloud security best practices, including IAM.
- Implement serverless computing and event-driven architecture using AWS Lambda and AWS DynamoDB.
- Automate cloud infrastructure management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with AWS CloudFormation, AWS SAM, and Terraform.
- Script and automate tasks using Python.
- Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting for cloud infrastructure using AWS CloudWatch and CloudTrail.
- Optimize deployment pipelines for Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) using AWS CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, and CodePipeline.
- Collaborate with senior team members and business owners to deliver robust cloud-based solutions.
- Assist in designing scalable and resilient cloud engineering solutions aligned with business needs.
- Ensure comprehensive testing, security compliance, and operational stability of solutions.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation.
- Contribute to research and development initiatives and participate in technology skill enhancement programs.
- Experience in Microsoft server and network administration.
- Proficient use of personal computers and ability to analyze data, document procedures, and resolve technical issues.
- Operational and administrative experience with Windows Servers and various SAAS environments.
Key Skills:
- Intermediate proficiency with the AWS Cloud Platform.
- Strong experience implementing full-stack web applications using React, Node.js, TypeScript.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Node.js).
- Solid understanding of version control (e.g., Git), DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate across diverse teams and build relationships with stakeholders.
